My 75G in progress pic intense!

Hi All,

I finished uploading some pics to share with some friends this evening and thought I would take a moment to share with you all as well. Thanks to those of you I have traded with, sold to, bought from, asked for advice, and in general the good nature of this portion of Reef Central.

This started off as a 29 Gallon Reef, with the intention of going to a 72G bow front tank straight from the 29. I ran accross a smoking deal on the Orlando board one day and couldnt pass it up, so I ended up having a pretty darn nice interim tank to hold my livestock as well as what I got from the other tank until my 72 is done. I will be selling this 75 with the light fixture in the next few weeks, so if anyone is interested or planning, please drop me an IM. No livestock included except some live sand I wont be using, but I will pass along the great deal. The pics are the actual stand and fixture (Coralife Aqualight Pro w/ 2X150 MH and 2X65 Actinic), and there is a canopy as well that would handle some T5's nicely. It is just sitting in my garage.

So, I have all the pieces for the 72, I am just awaiting the custom stand and hood to be completed. The wife wanted it to match the household furniture, thus the reason I am not just keeping the 75. I am also switching to all T5's and a SSB on the 72.

Very nice!!! You had all that in a 29 gallon? It must have been very full. I like the new "temp" set up. You will have to post pictures of the bow front when you get it set up.

That is the gayest tank I ahve ever seen. Maybe you should try to upgrade to something less gay. I would trade you some leather pants for your whoel gay tank,

Those are some nice clams - I can't wait until I'm able to get one. I need to complete phase two of my canopy (Addition of MH). Just wondering, way are you going to T5's only?

Thanks for the comments all, except Coldskier who is almost certainly a unich, transgendered person, or some other freak of nature. He also happens to be my punk little brother (should have never sent him this link).

No, this wasnt all in the 29. Now that would have been packed baby! A lot of what I have was in the 75 originally, I gave away a lot of the LR when I sold the 29G, and kept all of my corals as well as the other fish (tangs) and corals that came w/ the 75.

I am going to all T-5's because I feel like for what I would like to do long term they are a better option for me. My new setup has an enclosed hood, and since I am getting it custom built I didnt want a huge top hat sitting on my tank. It just looked too silly, so I had him shorten it up to about 8 inches. The PAR ratings on the T-5's copled with the now long term success of many reefs encouraged me to go for it. I also like the idea of being able to tweak the spectrum to exactly how I want it since I will have 6 bulbs to choose from. The 72 is a great T5 tank since it is a litttle shorter (19"), so the Clams should do fine. If not, I am sure I could find a new home for them!

Not sure what I will be asking, because I am not sure what I will be including yet. The 75 has a UV filter that I am not sure if I will keep or not, I might use the sump, but have already built a new one, etc. Not solid on the price, but worse case scenario for the buyer would be the stand, hood, light fixture, and tank for about $800. I think that is a pretty good deal, but am still pricing stuff.
