RE: Drilling.
I forgot how your tank is set up. Do you have external OF? And IIRC the tank is smaller than what could fit on the stand. If your overflow(s) are not thru the bottom of the tank, I'd wait on drilling the stand. The next tank (and you know there will be a next ) might need some other hole pattern.
Let me know if you need some help during the big move.
So here it is. I still need to do a little scaping and I think I will put enough sand in to cover the bottom. View attachment 209858
I changed out the stand, upgraded my sump from a 35g to a 50g, upgraded my skimmer from a piece of garbage to a SRO2000, re-did my plumbing and painted the back of the tank black.
I still have a few things I want to do also. Like I mentioned I want to add a little sand to the tank. I also want to build another rock structure for the left side of the tank. The PVC in the back of the tank had a heater in it that I will move down to the sump.
I didn't get the light from the salvage yard but it sounds like the same one you have Tom . It does the job and when I upgrade to a 120 it will work for that too. Currently I only use 6 of the 8 bulbs.
Well everything seems to have made it thru the move except a few pieces. 2 purple haze, my Idaho grape cap, and what I think was a sunset monti all perished in the move I also think I may lose my hammer. There was an air bubble in the container it was in and I didn't realize the way the container was sitting the heads were in the air and not submerged. Bummer. Oh we'll live and learn.
