Good choices all around.....

The pumps are fine, the UV is same brand as I have, the coralife skimmer I am not sure of, but would probably go with a different brand. (ask around this forum for advice). I would go with more lighting. I recently upgraded mine to 2 x 250W MH. The power compacts you are getting probably are not much use for your tank either.

Of course, I am no expert so take all that advice with a grain of salt. :D

FYI.... :) The skimmer he's considering is rated for a 220 gal tank and is more than enough for his tank ... The lighting is also a good choice and gives plenty of light for anything he'll want in that tank including SPS corals.... I've got the aqualite Pro 72" above my 150gal .... GregM779 has the same lighting above his 125gal tank ( look at his thread and tell me where he's lacking ) ...

Everyone that's gotten the Super Skimmer has been more than happy with it.... Great price too.... You don't have to spend a crap load of money to get a good product......

wow what a beautiful tank!
it is really cool how you let us watch it grow over time.
exceptional tank

Thanks! I had not updated this thread in quite some time. I have kept a more detailed running thread on my local reef club's forum though. I appreciate the kind words.

Having these threads is great for me as well. I really enjoy reading the thread over to see the progression of the tank too!

It's all good, no need to be rude.

I did not want the person to go unanswered. I said to take the advice with a grain of salt, said I was no expert, and even put a smiley, gahhhh... :)

Wasn't trying to be rude and I apologize if I came off that way:) I did see your comments and the smiley face..... It's just that some folks try and push certain products that aren't always better than the cheaper alternatives..... For instance, folks swear by the Tunze power heads and discount the less expensive Seios.. Both are good products ( Seios are not to be confused with their cousins the Rios which are not very good ) and deserve to be recommended equally.... Same holds true with lighting and skimmers ( IMO )..... You can spend $500 on a Euro or $169 on a Coralife and both skimmers will be just as effective......

Again, I meant no offense...

I don't even know where you pulled that quote up from in the thread. Keep in mind, this thread is almost a year old. I believe I had tried to go back to the original post and update the equipment list. I can't becuase I get a message saying "The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 60 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message."

You might cycle the fuge lights to run only at night. Research this as I am no expert, but I've heard it does good things with oxygenation, chemical processes, etc. It may cut down on your growth as well. Great looking setup!

You can edit your last "post" for up to 60 minutes after you submit it by simply going to your post and clicking the: edit/delete button at the top right of your post window..... As far as updating your equipment list, go to "My RC" at the top and select one of the edit functions there.... I change mine from time to time... :)

Yes.. I know...... but I mean in this actual thread for people who read it from start to finish. :)

If you change something in your profile in RC, it will show in every post you ever made.... It updates your profile..... Every post you've ever made will reflect the changes you made today..... Try it..
