My 90gall and home built stand

I picked up this tank about two weeks ago from a fellow reefer in S.F.,
It is a 90 gallon that is 36Lx24wx24H. Its got some scratches but it should work just fine. Over X-mas and new years, I got the stand mostly finished- just need to make the doors and stain now. The bio-balls will be removed from the sump and replaced with live rock and there is a seperate 15gallon fuge. Lighting is 2 250watt 1400K halides and 4 36" T5's on an icecap 660, plus another 2 24" T5's on a workhorse. Should be around 750-780 watts total. Tank will be a mixed tank with a little of everything. Let me know what you think- thanks...

Looking good! I seem to remember this is going to be a penninsula tank? Is the stand accessible from both sides, or just the one?

There are doors on both sides of the stand. The canopy will be hinged so that it lifts up to the back. After realizing my kids won't be able to lift canopy to feed, I put in a small drawer style door that will just lift up to feed that is on the front side.

Nice work. Wanna build a stand for a 150?

I put gas struts in the canopy for lift assist. Guys were teasing me that I wussed out by not doing linear actuators.

Whats the length of the 150? I've got a 2x4 stand that is 5'x18"or24". Just needs the facade designed- basically the finish trim.

5ft x 2ft. Although it is not a standard size, the few stands I've run across are too short to run my Euro-Reef RS250 which is 30" tall and needs to run in 6-8" water.

You're in luck, as i'm 6'3" tall, I like my stands tall so I can see. From floor to top of stand, it is 42" tall. Should be tall enough. LMK

Do you have any pictures that show the lighting arrangement that you have in the canopy?

I have the same dimesnion tank and Keith Grandt is building me a canopy. Currently I have 2 150w MH on my tank and REALLY want to upgrade two 2 250w. But nobody makes a full set-up with the 2 250w MH,T5's, and LED's for a 36" tank?

Leds are a real easy upgrade. They are also easier to repace when they are not in a fixture. I use the daisy ones from current, I believe.
