My Anemones Are Coming!

My anemones left the city next to me about 30 minutes ago with UPS. :bounce1: They should be here any time now and I'll post pictures when they get here. I ordered them off of Reef Hot Spot. I hope that they're healthy! :worried: Anyone have any experience with ordering BTA from Reef Hot Spot? I'll post pictures when they get here. Pray that they shipped well and are healthy!

I was reviewing the tracking info on UPS and apparently it was shipped from Souther Cali to Kentucky and back to Northern Cali... weird... :/

I purchased a WYSIWYG GBTA from them but the anemone didn't look like the picture they had on their website but other than that the anemone was in excellent condition. I contacted them and they refund me the money. Well they gave me a store credit.

I just received them. I got one that looks like what was in the picture - but it is brown more than green. I got another which looks like the one you got (I saw your post) but it is lighter in color and I think he may color up a bit. Then... haha... I got one of the type that you ordered!
It isn't super green, but it is more of a muddy green with a very green oral disc...

How many did you get?

If you got all of them from that section that picture its just a representation of what you'll get. Its not actually a picture of the anemone you'll get. But oh well I got one from the WYSIWYG and I didn't get what I was actually seeing so you never know. lol Good luck and try to post some pictures while your acclimating it and then when you put it in the tank.

Are you closed to Reef Hot Spot? I didn't know they did deliveries on Saturday. I thought they were closed.

Since they are in Southern California they shipped it yesterday and it got here today at about 11:00 AM PST. I live in Northern California so they're about 5 hours away. I ordered 3 of the $29 BTA and I got one that looked like what was in the picture but a bit less colorful. I got one that looked like the one you were supposed to get but it is a muddy green with purple tips. The other I got is like the one you received - it is about 5" but it is a light brown and slightly bleached. I'm happy with my order and I left them a review. I'm going to post the video of my unpacking them and starting the acclimation in a few hours... right now I'm too lazy!

Oh, and BTW, 2 of them have purple foots/feet...

OK I put them in the tank and I've realized that they aren't all that bleached. One is an electric green with awesome bubble tips that are tipped with purple, the other has really bubbly-round tips and it also has purple on the tips. The third hasn't really fully opened but it has some nice, straight, dark green tentacles. They aren't really bleached at all - they just looked bleached under no lights.
Eric Noa, ya know the one that you ordered? 2 of them look exactly like the picture on the website that they showed you! The other one looks like what I ordered! I'M SO HAPPY!

Anemones can vary in appearance tremendously after a stressful shipping.

Here's the pictures of the anemones. The pictures don't show their true color, but they are all basically bright green. It's in my 34g RSM and I'm uploading the video to youtube and it should be up shortly.

Are you looking at them with the lights off? When I was acclimating mine with the lights off they looked very bleached and light brown. When I put them in the tank they were all nice and green! Post pictures. I'm planning on ordering a WYSIWYG if they put up any that I like. For some reason all the WYSIWYG ones say 4-5 inches and they look 6 inches or more in the pictures. I'd like them to measure the anemone when fully open and put the exact size up. A relative order them for me as a B-Day gift and they said that they put in the order notes/specifications that they were going to be a B-Day gift and that they didn't want any bleached anemones or anemones with gaping mouths. Maybe putting that in the order notes or whatever would help.

The anemones didn't make it... here is one of them. You can clearly see that it was completely bleached.

It looks like that was still alive. I have rec'd BTAs looking like that and had them come back. They even had portions that were completely necrotic.

I agree, That still looks very much alive, and NOT bleached. It appears just to be a dull brownish anemone.... I think you pulled the plug a little too fast on that one buddy, you didnt even give it 24 hours.... Perhaps saying they didnt make it so you can get store credit for more colorfull anemones, please say thats not so.
