My ATO water starts to stink...why

I use ro water. I fill a 5 gallon glass aquarium and have a lid on it which has the pump in it to fill my aquarium
After a few days it tends to get a funky smell
Should I have a pump in it to keep it circulating
Additive?
any ideas

I have a 32g brute i store water in. I have a koralia 550 always in circulating water but it still kind of gets stinky

put some kalk in it. that will keep bacteria growth down.
