Hi all, just wanted to come in and let you all know that my wife is in labor and we are sitting here waiting for my little boy to be born. She is 6cm dilated, and has an epidural, and is on pitocin to help speed up contractions a bit, so we are definetly looking at sometime today (maybe) who knows but until then you all will have to wait til he gets here.

Talk to you then,

Bill

Outstanding Daddy hope all goes well and don't worry about what she calls you during delivery all will be forgotten as soon as she sees the baby

Congrats! My little girl just turned 2 last week. Enjoy your time with them while they are still small. They grow up so fast. :)

Yes they do, my boy is 18 now ... yike !!! he is playing in his first show tonight in SF he is the drummer for a metal band. Its bitter sweet when they grow up and becoming independent and don't need you as much. Enjoy them by your side while you can

ok my boy is not born yet, we are only at 7 cm now, she kind of stalled out last and even went backwards a cm lol. so now we are sitting here waiting for things to change, but since her water broke 23 hours ago, the nurse says that Luke will be born naturally or by c-section within the next 12 hours.

I'm not a big advise giver, but try and get some rest if you can. You'll need it later, but she'll need it more, and one of you will be up with Luke. Hang in there, it is all WAY worth it.

Based on my experience, your life is about to become far more wonderful than you ever imagined it could be... congrats!!

Very true. Before my daughter was born people would tell me I would look at life in a whole new way. They were right. But you just don't know until after they are born and you see how wonderful it really is. Congratulations again.

ok sorry to leave you all hanging but things kind of got out of control..so let me telly ou what happend this weekend.

my son Luke was born on May 13th at 1219 pm, by emergent c-section. He was under duress while in the uterus and the Pitocin was causing his stats to drop dangerously. So after his c-section the fluid in his lungs was not expelled, and his respiration rate was at 180 and his O2 sat was in the 80's not good at all, so we flew him to Santa Rosa Sutter where i have been since Friday. My wife finally got to come down last night and hold him for the first time since he was born. Actually she never got to hold him before the medivac;d him to santa rosa. when he was in santa rosa they put him on CPAP, which is a positive air pressure opening his lungs and pushing the fluid that is stuck in his lungs to push back into the capillaries. the diagnosis is called TTN, you should look it up. So Kelsey finally got to come down yesterday and hold him for the first time and he is finally eating and breathing more regularly and the doctor is saying he should be able to be released tomorrow. Yay. So this is Luke.

Scary but glad to hear that he is doing better. Must have been hard for your wife not being able to hold the baby. Congrats again.
