It is a beautiful starfish 
I hate to be the one to say it but you should take him back to the lfs that you got him from, in my opinion, and get your money back if you can. He probably won't last that long in your tank. I don't mean to sound harsh but your tank looks way too new and small to keep him alive. Linkia starfish don't tend to last long in most aquariums and this is probably one of those purchases you should have read up on before you made it. Not only do purchases like this hurt the animal, but they also hurt your wallet and the hobby in general.

Linkias are actually very durable. ive kept one for over two years now. it has survived a tank mishap (kalk overdose) and is doing well. i think its a bit of a misnomer that linkias dont do well in captivity. the cleaner wrasses, however dont have a great track record.
like others have stated, you might want to research husbandry a bit more before making purchases. we've all made some missteps in this hobby.
keep up the good work, im sure your tank will come along just fine.

Yeah I guess I owe the op and apology. I went and did a little reading after I posted. So maybe I should take my own advice and read before I post, like reading before a purchase. It seems some people do have very good luck with these guys and are able to keep them for a few years. It was my understanding that they are very sensitive. We used to get them at the lfs but they would never make it for long. But I guess that is just my opinion. Op has just as good a chance as anyone else.

I'm with potterjon on this one. The horror stories far outweigh any success stories I've heard. Good luck though.

Linkias are very hard to keep and most die very quickly . Congrats to you though, it seems to be doing pretty good.:celeb1:

i should caveat my statement with the fact that i collected my linkia personally. looking over the calfo article, yes he is right that they dont handle shipping and transportation well, just like all livestock....i really cant think of a single species that does better when shipped half way around the world in a small bag.
i even keep a cleaner wrasse in my tank that eats flakes like they are going out of style......
i get the luxury of breaking many of the rules and norms living on an island and avoiding the transport stresses for my tanks inhabitants.
