Need some help here guys. Anyone have an idea of what's going on with this guy? Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic, best I can do at the moment.

It looks like someone has sprinkled fine salt around the outside of the feeding tentacles. This guys been in the same position in the tank for over a year. Water parameters are rock solid:

Sal: 1.026
Ph: 8.1 - 8.3
Temp: 78 -80
Alk: 4.2
Ca: 425
Mg: 1325
Am: 0
Nitrates: 0
Nitrites: 0

Im not sure what exactly youre looking at- sorry. The coral looks like its doing very well to me actually.

When you say it looks like someone sprinkled salt- are talking about spots on the tissue around the tentacles, or on the tentacles themselves? If you mean the actual tentacle- those are normal. Theyre just concentrated batteries of nematocysts the coral uses for capturing food.

Definitely on the flesh and definitely not normal. It's really hard to describe, like a white fuzz and it's on the flesh outside of the tentacles. It's only started in the last couple of days, where the real white for lack of a better desciption lines/patches are.

Would a lugol's dip hurt it?

Let's try once more
