I know the feeling Dazed. I hate to say I've lost about 15 corals in the past 12 months so I feel your pain. Its so frustrating when you are doing everything you can but they still die. Some people make it look so easy too which reaaally sucks lol. (Yes melev I'm talking about you) :)

I second the comment about your clowns. They are awesome.

When was the last time you replaced your bulbs? Do you make your own salt water? If so, when is the last time you test TDS for your RO water?

At MACNA, I saw some new Larvae Collectors in the CPR booth. Here are the pictures. It made me think of this thread.

Your clowns look great. Can't wait to see more stripes appear.

wow nice pictures i am going to have to check on that larvae catcher. It sure looks nicer than mine:D

thanks for the information as always; and i just thought of something my thread was thought about at MACNA how cool is that, lol:D

Bulbs are just 9 months old; and yes i make my own water. I have the spectrapure max cap RO/DI 90gpd.

The unit has 2 inline testers but i verify the tds reading with a much more accurate device:

The com 100 will show a rise before the others will. I replace the carbon & sediment filters every 6 months and have only had to replace the di stuff once so far. It imo is an excellent system.

Well due to the on-going issues with my reeftank i performed a 16g wc last night and i think it caused my eggs to hatch a day early. They have always been going 10 to 11 days before hatching So i was planning on setting up the catcher tonight & tomorrow night if needed but that's not going to happen now. So i missed another batch I don't know what i did to make the reefgods so angry but whatever it was i guess i did a good job.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the kind words and pm's it has helped during this week of trouble.

On a better note i was watching my 8 little ones last night and 2 of them have black tipped fins on the sides now still only 1 stripe but hey they are growing.

Cool Dazed. Things will turn around you'll see. We all go through these trials. Think of it as character building...

I've had a month from hell. 200 fish batchs down to 40 then 12 and now maybe 20.

It's all in good fun right!!!!!!

Yes good fun alright :)

Even though i have not found the issue with my reeftank it seems that my clowns are still ok; as she laid a nice size clutch last night; and for the first time she got aggressive with my hand being close to "her area" i was trying to remove some gha and she got a little upset about it.

Half of my group of 8 now show the black tipped pectoral fins pretty cool looking.

:( Sorry to hear that you guys are having bad luck too but it does ease my pain a little knowing that it's not just me and even experienced people can have problems!

dazed- do you have any recent "baby" photos? :)

Wait what who are you calling experienced :D not me, lol.
Yeah it's been a bad week with no sure answer to my troubles but i guess when you try and keep mother nature in a box things are bound to get crazzzzy.

I did put up some pictures from a few days ago; but over the last 2 days they did change a bit half of my 8 now have their pectoral fins black color starting; they look cool almost like they dipped just the tips of the fins in black ink.

Well the hits just keep coming, lol. This morning i woke up to find that somehow my bta rock had been knocked over and was down on the substrate, The nest that was next to it appeared to only have a couple of eggs still attached to it, so i guess i missed another one.

The eggs were laid on the 15 and some of them were still orange anyway so i did not know how well this batch was going to do, guess now I don't have to wonder about it.
