My Chromis Laid Eggs!

Wow guys, really cool day for me. For the first time ever, my blue green chromis decided to lay eggs today. They actually laid them all over the front glass in my tank. The male has been guarding them all day. If any fish come on that side of the tank, he chases them away. It's pretty funny to watch. Is there any chance of any of the fry making it or will they all just become food as soon as they hatch?

I'm guessing food unless you take preventative measures, but either way, congrats.
I had the same 6 for 6 years and never saw obvious signs of eggs, though I suspected at one time.

Congrats! It is always exciting when your fish are laying eggs!

How old are the chromis and how many do you have?

The babies will most likely become protein skimmer food as they usually hatch at night. They are quite tricky to raise; this is why it isn't worth the time of experienced breeders to breed such a cheap fish.
