My clown bites me.

I have a spawning pair of percula clowns, and the male will attack when I'm cleaning around their conch shells they live in.

When my maroon first nailed me, I was so stunned I think I pulled half the water out of the tank:eek: he is pushed around by everything else in the tank but me -WOW

every once in awhile I go tease a big Clarkii clown. She will do the same thing and I've heard she's drawn blood from other people. I just stick my finger in a little bit and she'll come charging at it!

I got tired of getting bit. These little fish can be straight up evil. LOL I started hand feeding years ago, and the aggression stopped. I have 7 clowns. All but two are mature, and have been with me for years. None of them bit me out of aggression. They will nip at me when I first put my hand in the tank, thinking I have food, but as soon as they realize I don't, they let me go about my business. There's a big difference between the little exploratory nibble looking for food, and the full on, I'll rip your are off, territorial attack.

My B+W ocellaris bits me within 10 seconds of putting my hand in the tank. he will continue to bite me until my hand has been removed.

when I had a smaller 29gallon they would bite me, but that was 4 years ago. now i have a 50 and they eat outta my hand.

the peppermint shrimp are my favorite to hand feed.

my clowns never bit me when they were younger. and one day the female just snapped when i was DOING TOO MUCH in the tank. I had made a mess it there it was a cloud of sand and debris flying around and i had moved her anemone's rock around. She'd had enough and bit the crap out of me. from that point on for the next several months any time my finger touched the water she darted for it. i was scared to do anything in the tank, even with gloves on it's just a shocking feeling to get bitten. she had associated my hand with drastic changes in the tank and messing with her environment.

I started doing BETTER water changes and moving things around less, now she just enjoys being in her anemone and hasnt bitten me in a year or so. They are a spawning pair. i guess we reached an understanding. (i probably also just got lucky that she stopped)
