My clown bites me.

Anyone ever have this problem? Everytime I put my hand in the tank my large clown bites me over and over. The guy I got them from said they never did that to him.

i have two clowns that literally draw blood when i'm working in the tank. their bites are similar to paper cuts though.

i suppose aggressiveness about territory is a good sign that they are wanting to mate?

My pair of True Percs dont bother me at all but if I go near my pair of Gold Striped Maroon's the female treats my arm like a punching bag :)

My false perc whips it's tale at me at first and head butts my hand as a warning. Then starts biting.

As soon as I open the canopy to put the seaweed clip to feed my tangs she is there waiting to hammer me. I don't have to go near her, she comes after me. Now my girlfriend won't feed anymore.

My true percs never bother me, even when I go near the nem or fold up a side of the carpet to see something. Guess I got lucky and mine have eggs constantly laid.

I hand feed Formula One, so my clowns are very friendly with me.

Mine will nudge my fingers because they think they are getting fed..My coral banded shrimp has attacked my hand though with his little pinchers.

When rearranging the tank I get bit by the dominant female not the male clown. :uzi:The female bit hard enough to make me flinch! Don't take it personally and buy a plastic grabber arm. They are very conveinent by themselves or you can use it to defend your arm when picking up items too big or delicate for the grabber. I also hand feed the clowns and they don't bite me then. (pun intended)

I hand feed mine as well and they don't bother me so much anymore. On occasion the female will nip my finger instead of the food but not much. The male loves me.

my spawning pairs of ocellaris are sharks incognito....just saying.

i think maybe my juvi's can be hand fed, but not my mature clowns.

That is a really cool picture! My maroon clown charges all the time. She has drawn blood on the wife's wrist once while we were doing a water change.
Thanks.

Scary to think that they can break skin. My clowns aren't even as strong as my goldfish or dojo loaches right now. I'm curious to see if they'll get defensive when they discover my new BTA.

Bonus pic. I usually wedge the pellet under my fingernail like this. I'd be terrified if they could tear the skin under my nail. Can you imagine the pain? But for now, this is lots of fun.

Mine bite me too. I can hand feed them as well. But if I go in the tank without food and get close to their host that's a totally different story.

juvi's are not really aggresive. but when they mature and get a host nem/coral. they will get little nippy. when they start spawning, start wearing chainmail gloves.

little sharks waiting for me to stick my hand in there so they can bite me.
