My clowns laid eggs last night.

Not only did my clowns lay eggs, but both of my fungia's are broadcast spawning today. I got some pictures of the clowns eggs, but the fungia spawn happened before I could get my camera.

The male is doing most of the tending...the female does a little mouthing once in a while, but the male is constantly mouthing, and brushing his tail at them. I am sure they won't survive, and I have no plans to try and rear them this time like I tried with Walker's clowns, but I love it when fish start spawning in the tank. Makes you feel like you are doing something right.

The eggs have changed from bright orange to a dark maroon color. I started to see eye spots inside the eggs last night. The little male clown is a fierce protector. He chases everyone away from his babies except the mama.

Twelve days later...more egg laying. This time I got to see the female laying the eggs, and the male fertilizing. I got some pretty good pics. They are a little blurry and you can't see the tube where the eggs come out, but you can see the male and female and lots of eggs.
