my corals keep dying!!!

Update

Update

so over the past 2 weeks everything has really come into check. its pretty amazing. all my levels are pretty much perfect. i got the new fuge setup and it is running beautifully. i never expected something i made to work so well since im not the kinda person that builds stuff. but it is loaded with sand, rock, and it has chetto, dragons breath, and bristle brush i think its called in it plus its stocked with 3000+pods.

the most exciting update is all the corals that i had in the tank are doing amazing in just that 2 week time period. everything is open and full of life where as before they hardly opened up and it all looked like poo. even my clam seems to be doing better. i got 2 new cheaper corals just to see how they would go....both have grown slightly and attached to the rocks where i placed them. i am seriously overjoyed.

also that pad you guys said to get. cant remember the name. thats in there. it has turned a brownish color in spots but for the most part it has staid the same color it was when i put it in. and on the package brown wasnt on the list of colors it would turn so i have no idea.

ps....if you have a lot of tangs.....dont put dragons breath were they can get to it. i had a huge piece that i paid 50$ for within 2 days it was down to this tiny 1 inch piece that i moved to my fuge :'(

if i could figure out how to post pics here i would post some for you.

GOOD NEWS THEN!!!! Yeay!!!! Glad to hear that things are better!

Now just keep up with the routine and do be prepared from some ups and downs along the way.

keep in mind that this is a mix of different living stuff that will change over time, things will poop, things will grow , some things will try and take over an area as part of the natural way they compete on the reef ....

so just hang in there and do not over react when you have a new challenge or setback.
keep checking things, keep asking questions, keep learning.
books are kind of old fashioned but there are some really good ones on coral and fish keeping that you may want to get and read for example some by Scott Michael for example. give good backgrounds on the biology, the geography the chemistry and so on...
