My Dispar Anthias

Added a trio on 9/21. were at LFS over 3 weeks. eating frozen.
hid for first day or so fully out day 3.
not sure of the sex ..all get along so far. I was amazed to see after about 10 days they were eating the Prime Reef flakes. \
feed them about 3x day.. they eat voraciously. pretty much stay in the top part of water column all day. previously I tried a trio of lyretails that didn't work out early on. so far great fish.

looks like the top one is a male and the other two are females...I never had much luck with larger ones like yours...I get them small and grow them out..Gl

They all look female but the one purple ish one may be turning male...I have a large male and they look nothing like the mail. They have a big spike protruding from the front of the dorsal fin, they are all purple...

Sorry, my bad, I was thinking lyretail. The male disbar has a big dorsal fin like a sail fish...

MHG..Lyretails and a few other speices of Anthias the male changes color and grows the spike dorsel fin..but with many others it's just a color change...here is a pic of a pair of mine from a few years ago ..the male is on top an still got darker

they all look pretty much the same. i think the bottom two look lighter due to the light reflecting off of them. with the lyretails i had there was one that was more purple and did have teh elongated dorsal.
so i dont know with these yet. i'll work on getting a better pic.

beautiful fish!..if I can only get my male to get that coloration and those elongated pelvic fins..

Its all about patience I've converted many females in many anthias species to males and its always an interesting thing to watch.

so far so good, but one does appear to be staying on the smaller side.
thinking of adding couple more when upgrade is done.

one went missing in my tank transfer over the weekend. no idea where the heck it could be or went. confusing.
