I'm going to be updating this as I reduce my usage. It getting to hard to try to remember all the things I do.
The first thing I did was drop my lighting down about 90 minutes. So the new light schedule is 30min actinic, 8 1/2hr full LED, then 30min actinic. I also reduced the FW lights 2hrs. This saves me 2.495kwh/day.
The next thing was to reduce the temp setting by 1.5F. It had been set to 80 to help with the night time swings from being in the garage. I did the same in the FW tank. According to Kens Killawatt the reef was using about 4.5kwh/day after I reduced the temp. I didn't measure before BOOOO!!! Me.
So far just by monitoring my meter over the last week I have reduced my usage by about 10kwh/day. That's 300kwh a month at tier 4 rates that's almost $90 buck a month.
