My Entacmaea quadricolor just won't settle :(

Hi, I have a big Entacmaea quadricolor in my tank since one week. It split the day after I got it so now I have two. :)

The problem is that the two of them do not seem to settle. They walk all over the tank and seem to prefer dark places. At the moment they are both behind some live rock and I just see a few tentacles popping out. There is no light there and I worries about their symbiose-algea. I've read they need a lot of light so I piled up some rocks just under a reef-sun 50/50 light but they seem to hate light. Somethimes they do settle under that light but then they just walk away and hide again.

Are they sick? Is it normal that they hide when just split and still healing? Or do they just need to get used to the tank and all will be fine in a while?

My tank is perfect and very well balanced.

What might be the problem here? My problem with this is that I can't place the other corals as they are overrun by the anemones.

Sounds like they might be acclimating to your lighting, and also are probably still healing from the split.

They might not be satisfied with your flow, either.

I think they do hide for a little while when splitting.
Wandering though is usually a sign that they're unhappy, they're looking for a place to settle that provides (generally) protection (cave or crevice) and appropriate flow and lighting. It may wander the tank looking for a place that has all three of these things. If your tank is missing one of them it could result in wandering.

Here is a good website dealing with btas. It has a lot of pics to illustrate what she's talking about, and is full of great info.
