Hello Everybody!
I know i have posted quite alot on this forum but i keep going back and forth with the fish that i am going to be putting in my 65 gallon reef aquarium. Right now i have 6 different fish that i would really like to get and i know they are all compatible. I need one more fish that will be o.k with the mix too so if you have any ideeas please let me know :) Heres the list:

2 Ocellaris or Percula Clowns
1 Firefish Goby
1 Neon Goby
2 Baganii (banner) cardinals

Is that a good mix of fish? What is another colorful fish that would be good with the mix of these fish (easy to care for since im a "newbie" and something rather peaceful) Thanks!

~Sophia~

A royal gramma or a chalk bass might work nicely.
A dwarf angel would be good too if you added it last -- I like the flameback/fireball angels.

You'll want a fish that swims around the tank more - so I agree with above - a dwarf angel would be great

I'd add three more bangaii cardinals - they'll form a very attractive school that you'll enjoy a whole lot. They also do a lot better in groups. You could look into a variety of fairy wrasses for your "centerpiece fish." On the dwarf angels, some will nip your corals/clams, so you might want to watch out for that. HTH

I had a Coral Beauty kill two firefish, so I'm a bit weary about dwarf Angels nows. Not to mention she was a complete bully (would scare clowns into the corner) and she nipped at corals. I have since given her away and added firefish instead. Any ways, what about adding a shrimp goby and pistol shrimp instead of the Neon? What about a Blenny?

Fairy Wrasses Fairy Wrasses and more Fairy Wrasses. some of the most colrful fish and once out of their shyness always in the open and swimming around, only drawback they are jumpers.

Let me start off with saying I have way too many fish, and need to put my upgrade tank plans into high gear.

Fwiw, I would suggest a pair of Bangaii Cardinals rather than three.

I bought four captive raised Bangaii's last year around this time. After a few months a pair formed, and the male killed the smallest one. They both still chase and harass the third one to this very day.

I have a 58g tank so I believe it's pretty much the same dimensions just three inches taller.

I second getting a pygmy angel, but you may need to re-think the Anthias and/or fairy wrasse. I have a Lyretail Anthias pair - the male rules the tank - period. He chases the flame angel mercilessly as well as the female lyretail. Fairy wrasses for the most part are not as agressive as Anthias (Lyretail at least), but they can cost as much if not much much more.

Chromis are pretty active fish and are pretty to look at as well, and not nearly as agressive as it's damsel cousins can be.

Be sure to buy Tank raised Bangii Cardinals..Wild caught Bangii's carry many internal and external parasites and many are cyanide caught. Add two, if you add three ,two will pair up and kill the other..[as stated above]
Anthias are not for beginners...I don't see that on your list but see it mentioned
Argi Angels are nice, I have a pair in my 125 and they are model citizens. I am sure that is not always the case,Being Angels some will have a tendency to be a little aggressive . I love the Flames but the one I had was very aggressive
I got my pair at Inland Aquatics

hmmm...i really want a fish thats colorful, peaceful, reef safe and one that is an easier begginer fish :) Please let me know what will work...would pajama cardinals be better for me than the baganii cardinals? Thanks for the help!

Blazer's experience with the coral beuty killing the firefish, etc. is the exception rather than the rule - I have a single firefish in with 5 angels, including a coral beauty with no aggression toward the firefish. Just a side note pairs of fiefish don't work longterm as one will kill the other one.

No one can guarantee that an angel won't nip at your corals. It may be helpful to know that a couple of corals tend to be unsafe with angels are brains & cat's eye types. Plates & maybe porites, too.

Anyway if your primary concern is for your corals, youmay not want an angel. The smallest angels, the argi group, are your safest bet for your corals if you decide on an angel. But they are probably the most aggressive. That said, you could have a pair in your 65 would make a nice display.

I'd never heard of bangaii's killing others after pairing up. Thanks for clarifying that :) . I know someone who has a 180 with about 8 bangaii, and they have all been hunky dory for around a year. He got them as small ORA juvies...y'all think he needs to watch out for them later on?

Has anyone heard of pseudo chromis killing shrimp?

Yep, it happens. What kinda pseudo was it?

Normally even numbers of Bangii's are fine..just don't want an odd man out;)

I'd say a fairy wrasse. There colorful, peaceful and completely reef safe. They also will add some movement to the tank. All the fish you have listed just kind of hover around.
