so my question is where should I place him in the tank? I know about low light but I also want him to grow so here is a full tank shot, give me an idea where you would place him:

Also, an ID would be awesome!

Thanks so much!!!

lighting: 36 watt 10,000K PC

and when you say right of the GSP do you mean on the branch or on the ledge a little higher than the GSP?

I was wondering if there wasn't some common name for the type of acan I have, like I've seen candy striped, etc...but if it is just Acan Lord than okay :)

are you suggesting me to move him to a spot where he will get more light out of the PCs, or underneath the shady area of that ledge to avoid the light? Thanks for the response.

with 65watts, or halides and a tank height of approx. 12 to 18" I would say at the bottom. but with 36watt. bring it up toward the middle, and exposed to more light.

if it helps i think some people call the color pattern ( whatever the colors are) a pinwheel.. i agree that big blank area on the right looks like it needs an acan there :)

I would not keep it there. I think that frogspawn will sting the crap out it. (or vice versa). That's too pretty of a piece to lose it to an lps war.

Now you have my approval :D ... and a great centerpiece coral!

I didn't realize how big it was until I saw it next to the frogspawn.

the acan is doing wonderfully, it eats an unbelievable amount of shrimp at night, I think watching it eat might be the most enjoyable thing that I have seen in my tank, and it even seems to have colored up some more since relocation and feeding. I'm just so happy and excited I had to let yall know :)
