COMAS Rocks!
Came home from work last night to find my Coral Beauty sitting in the middle of the fish room. He and my green mandarin my first fishies and I've had em longer than any other livestock in the tanks. Lot's of fond memories with the little tyke, so well behaved, got along great with all tankmates, never bothered the corals. Plus he would eat anything I fed to him. Sure going to miss that fish. :(

The coral beauty?! Oh man, that's a heart ripper. It was quite a wonderful fish in your tank. It will be missed, even from the Stevens Family.

Thank you Travis. I was proud of jess for not breaking out in tears....although she spend all evening sniffling. Everyone who came over and saw my tank always commented on how beautiful he was and it's there favorite fish in the tank. It was ours too. I'm going to feel so bad if/when I decide to replace him with a marine betta in the future. I just don't think I can get that lucky with another coral beauty. Even his coloring was perfect!

I'm sorry about your loss. They are great fish, and I hope you find another coral beauty to your liking.

I have a neighbor that has had 3 border collies in the last 35 yrs. each one a black and white, each one named skippie, each one he hated for the first year, then as timed passed it became a better dog than the previous, so my advice is to start looking for a new fish..... Ben

Sorry about the loss Adam, I had a jumper last weekend, my 6 inch pink spotted watchman goby was on the floor when I got home from work that night. He was my first jumper as well and he was one of my first fish.

Actually, I had a 6-line wrasse that was one of my favorite fish. I have lids on my 75 gallon, but have small cutouts for my heater wire, and 2 powerheads. Brook and I were doing some sort of maintenance, and she found him next to the tank. I think that was close to 3 months ago. I really like 6-lined wrasses, so I would like to get another one.

I know what you mean chris, I really loved the coral beauty, hated him at first and the only reason I bought him was cause my woman really really liked it, after 5 minutes of watching him swim around the tank I couldn't imagine my tank without him. I just have a hard time replacing pets with other pets of the same look, just doesn't feel right, lol. What's funny Is we plan on having all sorts of fish in the 150 that are known to jump out of tanks, and planned on making a top cover for the tank. Never occured to me that the coral beauty would be a jumper. At least he was going for a world record towards the end, made it a good 4-5 feet out from the tank. What stinks really bad is I know he couldn't have been there for too long cause the cat didn't eat on him or anything, and Jess had to work a few minutes late and was late getting me picked up from work, had we been home just a few minutes earlier theres a good chance he would have made it. he was actually still gasping when I found him but was too far gone for any hope. Died as i was pickin' him up and taking him to the tank. It was so sad. Jess even looked at me with those watery eyes and said "why couldn't it have been the dominoe instead" .

That part's kinda funny. I'm sorry you lost your coral beauty. I really like that fish too, but I haven't had any luck with them. You should get another one. When you see one with the perfect coloring, you'll know it's time again.

I agree, but it was awfully hard to convince Jess of that, lol. The coral beauty was her fish after all, I guess that makes the dominoe my fish
