OK...not so happy abouty my purchase. Though, I will put an effort forth to prove all the theory wrong. Or maybe I should toss him now? Anyone have long term success with them?

no success here. lol but through feeding Reef roids, and moving the sand around to let the detritus loose, my blue one hasnt declined in health that much in last 8 months, hard to tell if any new polyps ...

dont toss it, just try your best to feed it as much as ure system allows u to.

they live in mod water, so I dont think we can ever match their needs.

the few success stories you hear are with ORAs red ones, they are photosynthesis and require less feeding.

Haha. I hate it when that happens lol. Thats why I try to research before I buy. Ill see something in the store and google what it is. I once bought a nem on impulse.....lets me tell ya the stress I was having when i got home. I think I was more stressed than the nem was lol

they do last a year or so, it will be fun to have it for that time atleast.....who knows it may be fine......i know the only goni that have a good success rate are the red ORA flowerpots

Gonipora is a coral that you rent isn't it? You pay them and they last a month to 3 months. But now a day many captive breeded are doing very well. Got a pink one with yellow center, had it for a little over 7 months. Grew 2 polpys and doing well. Very hardy when they are the captive breeded type.

I got a red goni about 3 months ago..it is a pain in my neck to find a good spot for (it doesn't seem to like any flow that any area of my tank has to offer)

BUT
It is actually growing new polyps, I have found 2 new ones, and it is actually doing really well..just keep your tank clean, and make sure it has every chance to succeed..

I found out placement is very important as well as clean water. Just keep those up and of course feeding and hope for the best.

I have had my green goni now going on 5 months gotten a few new polyps placement is key but once you have found the right spot dont mess with it. I run 6 bulb t5 in a 90 and it rests on the bottom with mild flow. So far so good had a few days where it did not want to expand but other then that is about the size of a tennis ball.
