A very hardy coral and you'll be able to easily frag and get your money back out of it!

You'll be able to frag even when you don't want to lol. It just happens no matter what. Grows pretty quick for me, although mine isn't as orange as yours, mine is more brick red. Awesome corals, I love montis

i agree this is a great coral. sure it is common as all get out but it is a must have for me.
awesome orange color. speedy grower which makes you feel good about yourself and if
you give it enough time it will become a real eye catching piece.

I've found all caps to be easy to keep...(Orange, neon green, green w/ blue polyps, idaho grape)

BUT, I currently have a season's greeting (Green w/ Red Polyps) that grows MUCH slower than any other cap I've had in the past. Anyone else have slow growth with this cap?

I'd say its just the picture. That looks exactly like the orange cap I had. I did see one orange cap with yellow polyps recently and that was not one I had ever seen.

most monticaps r very easy to keep as long as they hv good lighting and flow. a 2 inch orange cap frag retails for about $30-40. i currently hv 4 kinds of caps; green, orange, purple and neon green. they r my favorites since they grow very very fast.

Well it's sitting under some LED's so it has plenty of light, and good flow. It's all a pumpkin orange, I think it's my camera that makes it look any other color. Anyone know how fast it is going to grow?

I would say when they are small that they will double in size every 3-4 months. You'll find you have to frag them to keep under control! I like keeping them around so I can frag and get to LFS for credit towards supply/livestock. LFS might get $30-$40 out of it and you can sell personally for about $15-$25. I've heard some really good success with LEDs and not so much as they complained about growth. I run 2X250 Watt Hallides and 2X54 Watt ATI Purple Plus bulbs.
