Hi all!
I just bought 3 SPS frags from a fellow reefer. One of these corals is a Stylophora Milka (birds nest). After 3 days in my tank I noticed that the coral has not fully expanded polyps. More precise the top of the head is fully retracted.
Just today I noticed that one of my sexy shrimp was sitting on top of the coral.
I am not sure WHAT the hell she was doing there. Nipping? taking a nap? Just getting to know the coral?
Is it possible the sexy shrimp is nipping on the polyps?
From what I know sexy shrimp are reef safe. And I hadn't had any problems with my other LPS corals. Except when 2 sexys decided to make my frogspawn their home. They would constantly irritate the coral so it would expand. Now the coral doesn't seem to mind att all the shrimp in its tentacles and is always fully expanded.
