You should be ok as the twist-lock on the skimmer cup doesn't sit down much at all when attached, so you're probably still ok for removing the cup. Although, if you didn't buy your skimmer yet, the Eshopps cone skimmers (S-120 would be the equivalent) are a little better in terms of ergonomics and it's only 17" tall.

I would defiantly get that one but it is sadly $120 more than the PSK-75. And I just noticed everything is in US pricing!!
