My first two SPS's

Any help on names? I think the first is a type of mili

I have higher res images if needed. Currently I have both of these somewhat close to a power head for the flow and in the top 1/4 of my tank (55gal 4x54 PC for lighting)

Names would be nice and any advice as these are my first two SPS :)

The first one is either A. millipora or A. prostrata, both of which like good current, but not too strong, plus good light. The colonies are cushion-like in both species, but the branching is quite different.

The second one I can't really place. May be a bit too soon. Reminds me of A. acuminata a bit. Certainly a staghorn form.

I have only been in the hobby for a year so please pardon this dumb question but will these two SPS do well under PCs for lighting?

Never tried it, but my guess would be 'no'. Not enough light energy and the spectrum is problematic. I don't know what you have available in the States, but the European compacts are fine for a Nanoreef, but that's it!

My compacts have been great for everything so far. My understanding of light was always this:
"You can have what you want, but the light dictates the placement."

So in my case I will need to have them closer to the top, which is ok with me. So far they are looking great, no sign of RTN, and the mili is all fuzzy looking.

Still hoping someone else will chime in with an opinion on the second one.
