My Flame scallop

Hey everyone! I have had a flame scallop for over 1/2 a year now and am going to step it up to an electric flame scallop I fell in love with at my Lfs. Anyone have any experience with them except for them dying due to starvation because I pretty much have that problem solved. Any help appreitiated! Thanks!

What is your secret diet for the scallop if you don't mind sharing it?

All it is actually is a frozen block of rotifers every other day, and the Kent invert. target feeding mix. It's that easy!

i had an electric, 10 years back. it lasted a good 8 months in the tank (but that was a very dirty tank, owned by a very inexperianced reefer- )

they do look cool, and the little blue sparks/biolumenesents are very cool in the tank. good luck.

how big is the animal and has it done any growing?

He is about 5" across his shell and with his tenticles about 7". He has grown quite allot Because when I got him he was only about 3" total.

That is very impressive, but I wouldnt call 6 months success. People have kept them that long, but a year seems to be the real cut off. They take a long time to starve, just like linkias in small tanks. But hey, if he is growing, good luck.
