The GBTA has grown to about 8" in diameter is it too big for my 20g.
It moves to the top of a rock during the day and retreats to the back of the tank at night.
Its hosted by female clown has 130W PC (65 actinic, 65 10000K) and fed 1/2 silverside once a week.

This pic shows it at about HALF its size.

well what other corals and inhabitants are there in the tank. if you only have some xenia in there and the rbta then i would say it could grow a little more. however, it is nice to upgrade :) .

Yah there is just the zenia, zoos and a candy cane coral and some friggin glass anemones but hopefully not for much longer
Thanks for the replys

Well due to space in my apartment i wont be able to upgrade to a bigger tank until i move... instead i am installing a 20g sump so that will double my water volume hopefully that will be enough for the anemone ...it doesnt move around much just kind of shrinks at night and grows during the day.

Thank you for making this post.
It is very frustrating when people post about wanting to put a nem in a small tank, and ignore all reccomendations against it because they don't believe that the nem will grow too large for their tank.

See people, this is why many people say that the minimum reccomended tank size for even the smaller nems is 30 gallons, because they outgrow your tank and then you are stuck with needing a bigger tank and expensive upgrading. Better to get a bigger tank and do the upgrade first before you get the nem!

OK... so the 20g is too small... i am moving up to a 29g and still getting a 20g sump its not much bigger but thats all i can do at the moment
The BTA seems happy it sprawls out huge during the day and eats like a pig, nice colors too.
Thanks for the replys and a couple more questions for you...

1) How big do GBTAs get?
2)Will it ever split ? can i encourage it to split?

Thanks for the replys,
Ken

A 29 gallon is a start but when you move the best thing to do would be to upgrade as big as possible.

GBTAs split either under stress or becasue its thriving.
