MY GBTA spawned and I missed it...

My wife called me today while I was at work and asks "Is it ok for the fish to eat anemone poop?"

My response was "Sure, if they like the taste. Did the anemone deflate and expel some stringy brown stuff?"

She says "No. He opened his mouth really wide and a bunch of stringy white stuff came out and started blowing around the tank and now the fish are going crazy eating it"

So I asked her again if the anemone was deflated at all or if he is still inflated, and she said he is inflated normally and that he made three more "releases" over the next 10 minutes, so it sounds like I had a spawning event in the tank and I didn't get to witness it....

Anyone else ever see their anemone's spawn?

I wonder now if I should do a water change or anything to prevent my water quality from going south?

Yeah, my 65 gallon tank looked like this:

The white specks were actually greenish-gray eggs. If your anemone is female, it would broadcast eggs. If it is male, you'd just get a cloudy tank - and nothing for any fish to eat.

FWIW,
Kevin
