She gave roughly 110 USD for it. Prices (and availability for that matter) in Norway should not be compared to the US though; she paid about 85 for a tiny rock with some rather pale looking zooanthids as well (about 10 polyps – part of it can be seen in the first pic. Below the coral in question and the seriatopora)
I remember when I asked what kind if fish to get for my tank on a similar forum some time ago. I was recommended a damsel and was told “…..what is also nice about it, is that it only costs 5ish bucks”. I found a Fiji Blue Devil/Chrysyptera taupou, and ended up paying over 50. :S
I always get envious when I browse these forums – we are missing out over here
Thanks. I am hoping it will turn more towards blue over time. PE has increased a lot from when I took the pictures though.
I have an Elos Mini and the E-lite LED (18x3W). This coral is placed almost directly under the lamp a bit over the middle of the tank, and according to “eisaiasjr” in another thread (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1908309), this should be roughly 400 PAR. Are those values OK for this? (Probably not the right thread for this question, but…)
It looks like a true A. tortuosa. I say true, as there are many corals being sold as such that belong to other species. 400 PAR is a bit high for any coral, except from the top of the reef. Keep an eye on it for bleaching or burning.
