My Gold Banded Clown Is Trippin!

at the bottom of the tank underneath the LR, it's pushing out the sand and making a big cave inbetween the LR! it looks hecka cool fluttering it's fin's to move the sand! is this normal or for a reason? or is it just character? just thought i'd share.

I'm pretty new to keeping a salt water tank but I have a yellow tail damsel who does the same thing. I believe that your fish is just trying to dig out a home. I rearranged my rock and he did it for a while afterwards but has found some nice hiding places now and quit. It is fun to watch him kick up sand with his tail.

My Gold barred Marron is also doing it. always kick up sand especially when i feed it but it does it anyways. looking for food or maybe even breeding i have a mated pair so could be that. it does it near the anemone on the bottom. he brought up all the junk and killed alot of my corals mostly sps and some lps but then i didn't have a good skimmer so highly recommend a good skimmer. by the way it is still doing it.
