My Green Star Polyp needs a trim

Hi All,

My Green Start Polyp is getting a bit out of control and the homeowners association is starting to complain !!

Any advice in the best way to trim it back?

I have tried but it is pretty imbedded in the rock...

I Just pull it off the rock were it sticks up

I am not sure what you mean by where it sticks up.

The ? base ? (not sure if that is the correct term) is well embedded into the rock.

Do you remove the rock it is growing on from the tank while cutting it back?

I've had this happen before and they only thing that worked was pulling the whole rock out of the tank and scraping the purple mat off. Not an easy task.

If it made its ways into the cracks where you cannot scrape it off, place a bit of epoxy on it to deprive it of light and kill it. Good luck.

Just rip it off the rock and re glue on frag plugs. Cautious, they tend to spread like wild fire.
