My GSMs are cleaning my LTA to death.

Damn GSMs are sweeping around the foot to the point that my 4 inch sandbed is only an inch deep and about to expose my LTAs foot.

The only other time I tried an LTA they swept it against the rocks so much that the foot was damaged and it died. That was about 18 months ago.

Set up a new tank and gave the LTA a couple weeks to acclimate and find what I thought was a good spot before introducing the GSMs but they are at it again.

Any suggestions?

I don't have any experience with LTAs, but maybe push the sand back and then put some LR rubble/crushed coral around it. Something that they cant sweep away, but it still having the sand around it, ya know?

My clarkiis are relentless... Ive had to put a bunch of small rocks around the base of the nem to prevent them from sweeping

Well so far so good. The LTA had moved into a corner and seemed to be happy there so I made a boarder around it with the smoothest rock I could find so no sharp edges to damage foot leaving about a 6 inch diameter hole for sand and foot. My GSMs have been sweeping for almost 2 days but all they get is rock. Foot is still well covered in sand. Thanks guys!

If that doesn't end up working, you could also use a piece of PVC -- the diameter would be determined by the size of the anemone.

Now thats a great idea! 4 inch piece of 6 inch PVC with rounded edges would be perfect but hopefully it wont come to that. Thanks!
