No the other items in the sump will want to eat it. And stiring it up will let the skimmer take care of it too.
So I want to keep it in the water column? hmm. I figure settle out and vac out was the best option. I'll toss a power head in there and see what happens. Still breaking in this skimmer so not getting much skimate yet.
Looking good so far. On your pump mount did you fasten the unistrut down to the base? How is the sound level there. I have a hammerhead/dart hybrid to mount and like your idea.
I have the strut hammer drilled and flush shell bolted to the ground. I put a bit of pl400 under it too so it didn't resonate.
The sound is all the motor, once I isolated the rest of the return from touching things, lol.
If the vibration you feel touching the base of the motor it a 10, and touching the ground that has no vibration is zero, then the strut is about a 1-2. I can tell it is vibrating but hardly anything at all.
I just have to figure out soft mounts for holding the return up the tank.
