My JBJ 28gal Nano Build Thread

If I say beautiful fish should it be a +2 or +3, I'm confused. :hmm3:

Great color and markings.

I can't wait till mine are ready to come out of QT.

Thanks John!! I hadn't noticed that you had a pair in QT, didn't see anything on your build thread. You need to post up some pics of those guys over there! Or are they slated for the new 60g?

+ 5 if my math is right LOL. Did you get these LFS?

I think your math checks out, thanks! Yup, got them from my LFS (FJW Aquarium). This particular shop stocks a lot of fancy clowns and other high-end livestock, it was a toss up between these two snowflakes and a pair of snow onyx that were also gorgeous.

Hadn't posted about them yet, given my luck with clowns. Don't have any good pics of them yet but I did recently buy a Nikon D40, I heard it was a decent starter camera, so hopefully I have some fairly soon.

first off those clowns are AWESOME! but after looking at your build thread over and over, I think I'm investing in a MP10 asap, just because it's top of the line and looks cool......see what you've done to me! LOL just one question though, my return only has one outlet on the left side so would I want to put the MP10 on the right or the left?

Thanks!

I don't think it matters honestly, the MP10 will create great flow all over the tank. I have noticed that having the return pointed directly at the MP10 helps prevent "funneling" from the water surface down to the MP10 when it's up over 70%, so maybe the left side would work better for you. I'd just play around with it on your tank and see what works best with your scape and livestock.

WOW! That's a great use of space in your nano! I've always felt like I could do a better job aquascaping. Going to use yours as an example! Glad I found this thread.

@tandldel, thanks again as always!! Appreciate the comment.

@buddythelion, appreciate the comment!! I'll be keeping an eye out for your build thread to see how it comes out... :)

@buddythelion, if it makes you feel any better most of the pics in this thread until recently were taken on my cell. So no excuses, start a tank thread! :)

@Patrick, thanks, appreciate the comment!

Wow, I went through most of your thread. I have to give credit where credit it is due. Your cube really is spectacular. Impressed with what you have done. Also, you seem very knowledgeable and give good advice to fellow hobbyists. Well done.

Btw, if you posted it I must have missed it. What kind of clowns are those. I have a pair of sustainable aquatics snowflakes. However, my snowflakes aren't as beautiful as those if infact they are snowflakes. Beautiful.

@Krkosiba, thanks for the comment on the tank! Ive learned a lot on these forums and have had a ton of help along the way - it was only a year ago that I was a reef noob! So I always try to give back and help those that are just getting started.

As for the clowns, I listed them a few pages back as ORA premium snowflakes, but was confused (I was looking at a few different pairs). They are actually designer "fancy snows" from an unknown breeder. SA actually asked me if they could use my pics for their site. :)

ange, as always great looking tank. I have a quick question on your carbon and GFO. How much are you running in your reactors? I'm looking to start running these but for the BRS ROX 0.8 it says I only need 2TBSP for my 29g, and only 3TBSP of their high capacity GFO. doesn't seem very efficient to run that little amount in seperate reactors.
