My JBJ 28gal Nano Build Thread

Nice photography. Love the PE on the Borealis and it's encrusting really well.

Thanks buddy!! It's always been a BIG PE piece, and always encrusted really well. I'm just glad to see it finally start branching and growing! Very nice colors under the Radion, but by far the slowest grower in my tank.

Great pictures. At some point, if I ever recover from buying stuff for the tank, I'm buying a macro lens!

Any suggestions for a good protein skimmer for our tanks? Looking for something that could fit in the inside chamber to the left side of the main return chamber. I have the "InTank" media tray in the main slot and the only other option I can think is to get either a small pump to slide down in the other chamber or find a skimmer that would fit. Suggestions?

Love your tank!

Started my JBJ 28G back in July of last year. Yours is 100 times nicer than mine. Reading through every page of your build and had a couple of questions for you.

  1. I have an MP10 also. What "program" do you run yours on?
  2. I love the fact you are running 2 reactors. I am not very handy. Did you have to customize at all to get the reactors in and working?

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the kind words! MP10 is on reefcrest at 90%. I switch to NTM every couple of days just to mix things up. Reactors were plug and play, super easy. If you get them and have any questions just let me know and I can provide pics or whatever you need to help you get them setup.

ange: I finally decided to get a second reactor so I can run carbon and GFO at the same time. Do you have installation/hookup pictures/instructions readily available?

Thanks!

I had taken one a while back but snagged a better new one just for you Mr ojonas! MJ400 in skimmer chamber, one flow adjuster only, reactors plumbed serially, return to heater chamber. A couple feet of Lee's 1/2" ID pond hose does the trick for plumbing.

Thanks!

I have my weekend project set now. How did you squeeze in an MJ400 and the skimmer intake into the same column?
