some people requested pics of the juvie imperator when i got it in, well i picked it up from petco today and i couldnt be happier, it is just starting to get its changing colors, and its about 3.5"

the new place petco is using is the best in my opinion because it was packed extremely well and it hasnt picked at my clam or coral and actually started eating within 15 minutes of going in the tank

im also going to thank the canton petco staff because they were great through this, they ordered it in for me and they also were kind enough to keep it bagged up until i could pick it up, if you get a chance to go in there make sure you talk to steve, ellen, or dan they are awesome people to talk with and pretty much what makes that store what it is, if they know you are going to come and get it, ordering something for anyone isnt a problem they know we are responsible reef keepers so give it a chance, you will be pretty impressed

so anyways here are the pics

That is pretty nice...Ellen told me how nice the fish was when you picked it up.. Seems everyone knew about their shipment because the store was packed when I was in there..

The dragon wrass they have is really cool but would rip my tank apart...

i paid 75, that was befoe a-pets raised their prices and petco's corporate office had them raise the canton stores prices

the angel is still doing great, hasnt picked on any coral or clam yet, and is eating frozen cyclopeeze and brine along with picking on the sponges in the tank

i hope youre one of the lucky ones.... mine started with sponges then started on the lps. good luck =)

Was that the purple firefish they have? I seen it and was thinking about it...Maybe they had more than one??

I was told by Dan that most of the shipment they got in today was gone...Supposdely they are getting a nice fish shipment in next week but no corals...

Still got my Coral Beauty hiding....Dan says he may buy it as well!

gsm is talking about the wooster petco, yeah i knew that shipment would go fast, my imperator though seems to not like food at all today though and doesnt want to move from the corner of the tank is this bad?

Could be stressed a bit?? Anything else in the tank? I usually had good luck with angels when I had an all fish tank but it was 75 gallons with room to roam...

My juvi is eating well, but seems to hide in the corner of the tank on the bottom. I have a Maroon Clownfish that is bullying him a bit. The Emporer is very submissive and just tries to avoid a fight. I asked a very knowledgable LFS owner and he said that the Clown could know through instinct that the Angel will grow to be large and dominate the tank - so the clown will try to bully him while he still can. Mine is changing - yellow on his dorsal fin area and horizontal lines starting to show on his sides. Very cool. I'm thinking of moving my clown to the QT tank for awhile. Good luck with yours - they really are awesome fish.

well thanks for all of the advice but it didnt make it through the night, i even tried dosing copper slowing to the tank because i thought it could of been tail rot but it must of rested up against the heater in the tank and didnt have the energy to move and the heater cooked it,

but just so everyone doesnt go knocking on petco, this has nothing to do with their system, the fish never touched any of the water in their system and it was kept in the bag until i went there to pick it up, it is a sad loss but i think im going to hold off on any type of angel like that until i can find a real healthy speciman that i can view for awhile, im not knocking on petco or anything like that just trying to say its a little too sensative of a fish to expect to eat real good when you get it right away, i might look at other fish now or keep an eye out on the emperor that hector has in at tropical aquarium, and maybe the coppernad they have also, i need to knock off some of the tubeworms in my tank

Try getting a UV - I have one and need to get it hooked up. I think they would help with the sensitive fish like the Angels.

Well in future situations, your better off having them keep the fish for several days to a couple weeks before you buy it, and once you get it quarantine it for a few weeks before adding it to your display. Every extra hour the fish is in the bag its more likely to die, better to get it out quick and slowly acclimate, and let it rest several days before another stressful move.
