My Latest FTS

Nice shots Greg!

With that said, they still do not imply the depth and scope of the display. When you stand next to it, it is overwhelmingly engrossing!

We have talked about moving the puffer to his own display, however Greg is right...he unquestioningly indulges in whatever this display needs to keep it thriving...never just surviving! And at that rate, another display would be...(dare I say)...overindulgent?

Thanks Greg for the confidence, support, and finance to allow me to create!

Looking forward to the continuing evolution of this living piece of art.

The height looks great but it does make some things difficult. Add the 36" stand and 10" canopy and the display stands 84" tall. It is impossible to reach the bottom. I use a stepladder for feeding.

Awesome tank, about exactly what I aspire to! I may be upgrading sooner than I thought. Would you mind listing your equipment and complete fish list? I love your tank, very gorgeous!

I have some similar (though not as pricey) fish, and am in the early stages of planning their next home.

Do you ever regret the 6 x 3 x 3 for the height? Who built your tank?

I'm thinking either your size tank, or maybe 8 x 3 x 2'H. As I said, early yet...

Okay, here goes.....

The tank is 400 gallons. Dimensions are 72" x 36" x 36" . It is glass built by Lee-Mar. The stand was custom made from stainless steel by *******. All the cabinetry was custom made to match my house by my kitchen cabinet maker here in Phoenix. The entire project was coordinated and put together by Aquatouch (the best LFS in town in my opinion)

I have 3 Nu-Clear canister filters, two 80W high output Emperor Aquatic UV sterilizers, and a Tunze Master DOC 9480 protein skimmer (in-sump). Lighting is Tek Light T5 fixtures (two 4 x 48" 54W fixtures and two 4 x 36" 54W fixtures). My chiller is an Artica 1HP commercial chiller. All my pumps (4) are Blue Lines.
There is a Spectrapure RO/DI system with auto top-off.
I am planning on adding some LED lights soon, probably 6 of the Ecoxotic Panoroma 12W fixtures.

Current Fish List:

Bandit Angel
Conspicuous Angel
Goldflake Angel
False Personifer Angel
Scribbled Angel
Golden Puffer
Lemonpeel Angel
Swissguard Basslet
Mystery Wrasse
Mandarin Goby
Trio of Bartlett Anthias
Blue Spot Puffer
Cleaner Wrasse

I also have a 3" Blueline Angel and a Pair of Wrought Iron Butterflys that are currently under the care of ccampell57 in CO. These additions will be the last.

I have no regrets about the 3 foot height. The tank was intended to be a room divider and this height achieves that.

Gorgeous tank and excellent fish selection! :) Did I see a maroon peeking out from the rockwork at the bottom in some of those pics too?

what superb fish you have please can you tell me what gorgonians, and corals are safe with your fish? as i see you have experimented quite abit

Hey Greg, good to see the tank is still doing so well. Your Puffer may be a menace, but he really is the most impressive I've seen. When are the Butterflies coming down from Colorado?

kinlayan,
So far, all gorgonians have worked, all star polyps, palythoas, singularia, cabbage coral, and colt coral have worked. Also, some red sponges as you can see in the pictures. And the large leather coral too.

All SPS and LPS, xenia and mushrooms were quickly eaten (within minutes)

Kirk, the butterflies will be coming here after Chris sends down my blueline angel. Not sure exactly when though. I still need to get out to you for some golf!

lisafoster, thanks, the puffer is one on the best specimens I have ever seen which is the reason I cannot get rid of him and create a full blown reef.
