Just went home for Lunch to check on the stomatopods, specifically the new peacock.
So far it has adjusted well with 0 problems and it has adopted its new temporary home of PVC pipe. I mostly want to keep it under close observation and specifically the container that holds it.
When I was at my LFS yesterday frantically looking for a replacement "safety tank" I came across something that instantly took my eye and while its of no use to me rite now, anyway its an extremely heavy duty reptile tank (totally plastic so no steel bits on it) and the walls are about 1/2 a cm thick!
When I saw them I instantly thought, DAMN they would make for a quick sick "temp" multi mantis setup sort of like what I got going in my sump but FAR thicker walls, specifically for smaller smashers. The tanks stacked and are professionally made so you get that nice clean cut look.
The next thing that struck my mind after thinking about those tanks was.....maybe I can't use them cause my current system(s) are nearly done BUT what about.....for babies! get a good 15-20 of the containers, stack them up into a cube of sorts, then place them in a tank that is big enough to hold the "cube" and vwalla baby mantis nursery!
If I can get a pic of one, the pic itself would make everything I said above 100x more clearer xD
