My Leemar 90 Build.

Mike
Absolutely you can give constructive criticism
Also. Thanks for the seasons greetings. I glued it on the rock in the shake that it was supposed to be

The Koralia really takes away from your beautiful aquascaping. When I'm panning from left to right, I'm like WOW, but then I get to the Koralia and whoaaa, where did that come from.

I agree 100 %. They are just in the until I can afford one more vortec MP40 and the wxm module for my aquacontroller....

I want to buy my dosing pump first, then build my canopy, then the doors, then the new mp40 and module.....

Still about a grand to go...... I will get there soon.

My friend Mike, (reven) is letting me use these for the mean time.....

Thanks Mike. I will check.

By the way, the season's greeting is really nice and green.... I have it in my frag tank now "healing" I glued it to the rock like a puzzle, so, hopefully it will fill in.

So my tank is crystal clear and everyone seems to be doing real well. I added a real cool small flame angel. The real christygirl has yet to name him.

Going to move a couple of corals and a couple of clams tonight.

I will post some pics.

More coming tomorrow....

Oh, and by the way.... Sorry for the grainy shots.... I was shooting with a real high ISO last night.... I don't like the way they came out.....

My lense is a F4.0 24-105 Canon L lense on a 30D camera.... Not enough light....
Tonight I will try my F2.0 70-200 Canon L lense and bring the iso down a bit....

Hopefully I will find the right combo.....

I want an F1.0 Macro..... But, that would cost more than the tank!
I also want a better camera body..... mine is 2 years old and I know they got tons better!

don't think you'll ever find an F1 macro. Canon doesn't even make any lenses F1. Their fastest lenses are the 50mm 1.2 and 85mm 1.2. Canon's fastest macros are the 100mm 2.8 that they have. There is a new L series one with higher resolving power for double the price of the normal 100 2.8 Your 70-200 is 2.8 too isn't it?

Abereefur,

Thanks for the info.... My 70-200 is 2.8... I think I did that as a typo.... Or, wishful thinking. I have 6 lenses. All but one are L glass, but my camera body is only a 30 d. I thought canon made 1's.... But 1.2 is the fastest they go.... Expensive though.....

You sound like you know quite a bit about the lenses..... Which macro do you think is the best..... I would like to keep it canon and L.

My lens list:
135 L
17-40 L
24-105 L IS US
70-200 L IS USM
24 TS-E
50 USM. not an L, but strangely one of my favorites....

So, which lens do you suggest?

As a side note, I plan to get one of the full frame bodies next.... Leaning towards the 5D or equivalent..... Great camera from what I hear with a decent price.

5D MKii is a great camera. Usable ISO up to 1600 ime. If you want a good Canon L macro, then get the 100mm 2.8 L. Here's the link. Your 135 L is my favorite lens of all time. I use that one all the time myself.

Mike,

I bought that at the last CFM in ontario.... about 5 months or so ago.... It was a little smaller than that, it has grown a little..... Feeds real well.

The last month in the RSM250, it hasn't looked as good..... but, I was having problems with my skimmer. I moved it 2 weeks ago to my 24 JBJ for quarantine.... It liked that and now seems to really like the new tank.

$100.00...... Can you believe that?

There is another thread on here about how good CFM is..... I agree...... Next sunday!

CFM and Reefapoloza are my 2 favorite shows. Max show I can live w/o but I go if nothing is going on that weekend. See you there. I know you said you might be in the market for a MP40, you might want to check out the marinedepot yard sale this weekend.

Definitely good deals. You might want to check their website, but I don't think they carry BM stuff. Make sure you bring xtra cash :)

Does anyone know what the best measured amount of carbon per gallon is? Can you put too much in?

I am running 2 reactors in series.

The first is carbon and then it feed the GFO.

I have been running the GFO for about a month and a half and I really liked the reacto so I bought anouther one to run Carbon. I am just worried that too much Carbon will be a negative.

Thanks for any input.....

I suggest that you might want to run the GAC/GFO the other way around. Depending on the type and size of your gfo you want to have it slightly tumbling. Also any GFO that gets out of the reactor will go into the GAC reactor and get caught. Just be aware that too much carbon can be a waste. On my 150 I change out 2 cups monthly. I am not so sure a third media reactor would be needs unless your going to use it for pellets or something like that.

Which carbon are you using? I'm using the BRS Lignite and for my 150, I'm using 2 cups and change it out once a month. It doesn't hurt to start light then add more. If you bought BRS stuff, you can check out their website and use the reef calculator.

BTW, how's the seasons greetings doing?
