My Leemar 90 Build.

Mike, I will be there and thanks. That will be real cool!

Chad, pics tomorrow. I got some stuff done on the stand. It is looking real cool. In my opinion anyway!

Pics tomorrow. I promise!

Hey Randy, thanks for the skimmer! That pond is sick and your tank set up is very nice. Looking forward to seeing it finished. What year is that chevelle? 64?

Six2seven,
Cool. I hope the skimmer works well for you. Thanks on the pond.

The Chevelle is a 65. True SS.

Kieth,

Yes, I know.... I moved a bunch of coral from the 29 and I clouded up the tank with some aqua scaping and feeding.....

I will take my camera and laptop home tonight....

Thanks,

OK, as promised......

Tonight I will set up the tripod and try to do a FTS on the stand.

I have already moved 5 more pieces of coral into the tank tonight.

That's the way to do it, good job on the update. Lots of pics! Love it.

Looks like things are doing better in there. Hair algae is receding.

Thanks for sharing!

OK here is a FTS with the tank showing on the stand. If you look closely, you will see the reveal of the BLACK P-LAM around each door opening. I did this so that when the doors are closed, you will not see any light bleed from with in the stand. It will also significantly reduce the noise coming from the stand.

I also have cut all of the rails and the stiles for each of the doors. I did these out of the same piece of wood that each part of the frame will touch.

Basically, when the doors are closed, the grain on each piece of the frame, will match the wood that it touches. It should look cool.

I am making flat panel doors.

My wife and I are trying to decide what flavor of panel:

2 Choices:

1. Stained to match the frames and therefore the stand.
2. Black P-Lam panel with the frames stained to match the stand.

What do you guys think?

One last thing,

Don't know if you noticed, but the ledge at the top of the stand makes it look like the tank is recessed into the stand, well, because it is.....

It hides the plywood and foam and thw bottom layer of glass.

Also, the stand completely slides off of the P-Lam base stand. I can remove the wood completely.

Looks like you're starting to get the algae under control.

Can't wait 'til the tank matures a little and stuff starts growing in.

You're off to a GREAT start!

-Chad

Chad, I agree. The algae may be gone by next week. I still have more things to move into the tank over the next week. It will look nice once it matures. I hope.

Ev'e, thanks man. I think it will look even better once the doors are on. How is your stand coming? I am subscribed to your build. Congrats on the chop saw. That is a nice one!

Looks good Randy. Thanks for the pics. I really like how your stand is coming along. What kind of wood did you use for your stand?

Keith, thanks. I am using poplar. I am staining this dark and poplar is very workable. It doesn't have the nicest grain, but with some conditioner and dark stain, it actually looks nice.

Nicodim55,

Yes, there are pics... Not sure why you can't see them. You can go to my home page and look at my albums. Everything is in there.
