I've never poster any pics of my own so here goes!! My current setup is as follows: 55gal aga main reef, 40gal sump (chambered off to 4 sections), a 30gal refugium/grow out tank, 5gal algae scrubber!!
Thank you! Yes I like the idea of having swimming room! I currently have a mated pair of ocelaris clowns, a mated pair of skunk clowns, sixline wrasse, rusty angel (that doesn't bother my sps), chalk bass, 2 cleaner shrimp, and a harlequin shrimp!!
I'd like to add a tang or maybe a couple fairy wrasses, any suggestions!!!??
46g is too small for a Tang. I'm no Tang cop, but I do think that fish should be in appropriately sized tanks. ( No clowns in a 5g, that kind of thing ). The hobby's not about us, it's about the fish. Anyways...sorry for the rant.
Fairy Wrasses are really pretty. I don't know much about them, though.
Can I get a picture of your Harleys? ( Harlequin Shrimp ). I love harlequin shrimp!
How are those Clowns going? I thought clownfish would fight....hm..
Nice lookin Harlies I just picked up a pair and my kids absolutely love it when they do there lil dance by what it looks like cleaning there antenas maybe its cool lookin
As for adding new fish, I would steer clear of ANY tang. The difference between a 46 and 55 gallon tank is minimal and neither of these aquariums would be a suitable long term home for a tang. Have you looked into the dwarf angels?
Getting my order of new actinic t5s after work!! After install I'm off to my lfs! I received a call they got some double head euphilias in today for super cheap!! And great color morphs! I'll post tonight!!
no to hijack but one of my customers has 6 tangs in a 56 gal tank. i shunned at the notion of it but he did it against my judgement. i told him its a matter of time. but you know how people are.... now we are building a 125 think he felt guilty
I think if you got a small yellow or sailfin you would be fine for quite a while, when you think they are starting to outgrow the tank, then sell them or try to trade down for another small one. It's your reef and as long as you, the fish, and corals are happy then go for it. IMO
