My lionfish is sick

Well after 1 day of my lion in qt he has no visible signs of ich. He has cloudy eyes still but they are not as bad as yesterday. Hes swimming around more too (well as much as he can in a 10 gallon). Im going to try and feed him later and see if he takes it. Another thing i noticed is that hes redder than normal.

Copper is, according to what I read, not a good choice with scaleless fishes. It also depresses appetite. Hypo, correctly administered, will require a refractometer, an ATO or a lid to prevent evaporation, an ammonia badge, Amquel, an air pump, air diffuser, and a strong pump, not those weak hang-ons, with floss filtration changed daily. Hypo's lesser rep has a great deal to do with trying to do it without proper gear. OTOH, it does not depress appetite.

Correct me if im wrong but im almost certain lionfish have scales bc i saw a video on youtube where people were preparing lionfish to eat and they had to take the scales off.

Lions have scales and I've had a volitan lion go through hypo beautifully. After using hypo a couple times though, copper (Cupramine in particular) is just SO much easier that I would choose that. As far as eating, he probably doesn't want to eat because his vision is impaired (possible secondary infection) and he is infested with parasites. Copper him and see if the eyes get better or worse. Sometimes it self corrects. Also it is a bit alarming that the QT was not cycled, so this too should cut the feeding response. You will need to do very frequent water changes, and do not use anything like Prime or Amquel with new water as that will make the Copper much more toxic and kill the fish. If you can sacrifice a rock from your display (you won't be able to use it with corals ever), put that in the QT to help seed the filter with bacteria. Do some small water changes after you add the rock and clean off the bottom to get rid of any pods and worms that died off from it.
