My list

I am getting ready to stock my tank. I currently only have a pair of Darwin Ocellarus clowns. I would like to get all or at least most of these at the same time expedite the qt process but it may be too many to get into a 20 g breeder.

Any thoughts on compatibility? I have a fair amount of live rock and lots of coral frags.

The list: Melanurus wrasse, Midas Blenny, Royal Gramma, Orchid Dottyback, Purple Firefish, McCosker wrasse and a Mandarin Goby.

Neither one of the wrasse will work in the 20g and you can only get the dottyback or royal gramma, not both

It will more than likely be too much for QT. I would separate it into two batches if possible for you. The mandarin will be tough to feed in QT. When I qt’d mine, he ate Nutramar Ova. It kept him alive for 3 months in qt. Most mandarins take to this food.

I think I will need to separate the purchases. I plan on only doing a ttm on the mandarin and then he is going in the DT. Also he will be in a later purchase and we are going to ditch either the dotty or the gramma.

So what do you think? A Royal Gramma or an Orchid Dottyback. I thought I read that DD treated their incoming fish with prazio and formalin prophylactically but I don't see anything on their website. Anyone know?

Royal gramma vote here. DD doesn't treat the fish with anything unless they are showing signs of something. They only "condition" the fish, so basically they make sure they are eating well and that's about it.

Firefish and the Royal Gramma are already dead.

The others won't be happy together in a 20 gallon.

The Orchid dottyback are beautiful but I would toss both the Orchid dottyback and the Royal Gramma and get a bicolor dottyback.

I previously mentioned that that 20g is only a qt for a month. Fish list is now a Vroliks wrasse, Midas blenny and a Purple firefish.
