Kien: really nice photographs. What equipment are you using to take the shots? Beautiful collection of LPS. Thanks for sharing.

I guess that's next on my list, it's beautiful. I love LPS. I'll try to remember to post some pics later when I'm on my laptop. We have an acan that's doing awesome from almost being dead when we got it home, a hammer that's gone from 2 heads to 4, a bi-color frogspawn that's gone from 1 head to 3, a fox coral that was half dead that's recovering nicely, and my prize posession is a white branching bubble coral that appears to be splitting at least 4 more heads from the original 5. My pics won't be as nice, though LOL.

Thanks :-). I shoot with either my Canon 40D or 5D mark II with the 100mm macro lens.

I shoot Canon with a 60D but have been trying with a 60mm macro and I like what you are able to achieve in your shots. Do you do much in the way of post processing? Do you have to adjust for the light/white balance?

Thanks Kien for posting such great shots.

I was confusing this thread with another thread, which is why I said I'd post pics...won't be posting pics on your thread. Do you have more to post?

Ya, that was a pink/purple blasto with a teal rim. Love it. I love corals in general. SPS, LPS, softies, I love it all and want it all!! LOL.

For post processing I normally only do three things..

1. crop down
2. adjust white balance (my halides and T5s gives off a 22K colour cast so I have to crank the white balance slider to drop all that blue and bring colour back to what they should be).
3. Drop the black level a bit as my halides tends to produce a huge dynamic range from nearly washed out to pure black in shaded areas.

Thanks Kien for posting such great shots.

Fantastic pictures. Can I ask what lights you use/these were taken with?

I run 3x250 watt halides with Phoenix 14K bulbs and 22K T5 for supplementation.

Would love a frag of that purple and orange torch if you ever frag it out. Im assuming its a torch!!! Awesome pics!!!

Sorry, I'm a bit far from you up in the great white north :-) And ya, that's an Aussie gold torch.
