My Mantis Shrimp Video

That has to be one of the best mantis videos I have seen. Very nice quality and nice selection of mantis shrimps. Thank you.

@MyMonkey

Take a look at my signature.
There a my current tanks.
All tanks are in one system.

Great Video? He shows mantis shrimp fighting eack other. If that is suppose to be a sticky on a site that sells mantis shrimp and cares and knowns so much....what the F***. Second, how is that cool? In nature its a different story but putting them together to fight each other? Seems to me someone gets pleasure from inducing pain? Your a mantis own but seem not to care about them.

He was introducing them with hope of them mating. He could have intercepted if anything got too serious. The video only showed them exchanging minor blows, not killing eachother. count to ten and think relaxing thoughts XD

@KJS3639

Sometimes i try to get them mating. I have in each tank a divider and can let them togehter. It is allways under my control and when it gets to serious i stop it immediately.
The result is sometimes this and i try to raise the baby mantis shrimps.
A lot of work, but i still try it.

@ Pea-brain

Thanks for your comment.

One system? Nice. Any pics of your plumbing?

Here is my system only for mantis shrimps.
All tanks have a divider and are connected together.

Very nice!

I'm curious about your success with the larvae. How long before you lose them? Having trouble with a particular hurdle like a molt or something? What have you gotten them to eat and what have you tried?

Dan

I feed them with brine shrimps and used some selco products. Every larvae was in a small cup so i had no problems with canibalism. The larvea survived two weeks.
After two weeks i was on a building site and i haven't the time to feed them 3 times a day. Feeding them only once a day is not enough to raise them.
I will try it in a few weeks again.

Puh, english is sometimes very difficult for a german guy. ;-)

Timmy keep us updated on your success and your failures. I am still a noob at all this. But I believe this is a goal for quite a few people here including my own. But I am not going to try and attemp this until I have everything to be ready for it. Again awsome video and setup.
