My marron?

Ok i know this question has been asked a billion times..

My 4"+ maroon clown shows absolutely no sign of aggression to new fish to me to anything.. My wife would really like a pair of percs. Do you guys think its worth a try?

Im thinking alone they might be ok... but when a anenome is introduced their might be problems..

What do you guys think?

it depends on how easy it would be to remove the maroon or the pair of percs if things should go awry.

if you're putting them in a 180 (6 foot tank?) it's possible they might be able to find their own territories, but the odds of the maroon going nuts on the percs is high enough that i wouldn't do it unless i knew i'd be able to remove one or the other quickly and without disturbing the tank.

it's kinda hard to gauge what aggression a clown would show another clown by looking at how it behaves w/ any other fish - it may well play nicely w/ everything else, but...honestly, i'd be worried about the large female maroon and her desire for a mate...and how roughly she treats prospective suitors. being a different species isn't a guarantee she won't go thru that routine with them.

at least by my experience, you'd have a better chance of a good end result.

it's not 'easy' to pair a large maroon,...a tiny maroon with lots of places to hide is probably going to have a better chance to make it than the percs, tho....especially a pair that will be trying to claim their own turf.

control+F on 'premnas' here - link if you can 'acclimate' the old girl to her new friend over time, you might have decent luck. seeing if she tries to kill the little guy thru the container lets you pluck him out (maybe for a day or two in the sump, and then try again) helps too.

im on vacation so i dont have the how to pair maroons thread link anybody???
