wow. that's so impressive filtration layout. is this a beanie overflow system?

It was built as a coast to coast style overflow. I tried to pull off a bean animal style drain. However it's not wide enough. On my list of things to do are to trim my sump baffles and make a wider overflow box to allow me to change the overflow. The way this is setup now, it's very noisy when running any kind of major flow. I also believe it allows air bubbles to get trapped in the pvc. I had it overflow on me twice from the tank. :(

All in all this setup was thrown together on a extremely tight budget and I had (and continue to receive) lots of help from fellow FMAS members with this beast.

One day soon I will try to post an update as where I am at now with the tank.

Before my outbreak :(

That ventralis is gorgeous! How do they rate on the difficulty scale? I know all anthias are difficult, but I know some are close to impossible lol.

I'm in no way an expert in Anthia care. But I've found them to be the most difficult to get eating. Harder than purple queens. I've only had small ones as in a inch and half or so in size. I had to feed live baby brine shrimp then transition to larger live brine and finally foods like mini mysis over a long time.

In my experience it's not a fish for someone who doesn't have the time or patience to deal with a fussy eater.

Back from the dead! So much has happened since my last update. Figured I'd post up some pics I've taken recently of some newly acquired frags. Things seem to be going well with my acros. So I wanted to document their growth.

Nice acro I got from Dave. It survived the last "crash" thanks to a buddy holding it for me down in Miami. The red colony below it also survived thanks to Dave. He also kept some corals for me as well while I reboot the tank.

RR Purple passion that literally started off as a polyp or two. It was a flake of encrusting that came off the frag plug when my buddy cut it off.

Milli. Not sure if name. It's either another RR piece or Cornbred/Fire Corals.

Jfox Ice something blah blah blah I got from a WWC live sale.

I believe this will end up being a blue stag. Came from a friend's Zeo tank

A frag of my PC Rainbow. The other piece I have is getting much better colors. I think this piece likes more light.

Looks like LED judging by the purple cast. Some of those frags look great Marvin. Some look a little rough :p

In my experience PC rainbow is not a light hog. I have mine under moderate light and it looks really nice. When I had it under higher light, it was rather bleachy. That first one you posted looks really nice. Good to know someone else with sticks. How about a FTS?

Yup, believe it or not those pics were taken under 100% whites. For some reason when I posted them here they show bluer than on my phone. I had to do all post processing of the pics on my phone :/

Right now everything is encrusting and popping out little new growth nubs. So I'm happy :) some are showing better colors on the new growth. I'll worry about coloration when I finish my lights and can permanently mount my acros. But I'll gladly accept and tips or constructive criticism.

Of the two frags I have of pc rainbow, the one directly under a fixture has the orangish coloration. That's why I assumed I needed more light on the other frag. Maybe I'll try to get some par readings this weekend.

Did you ever find the conchs?

Nope, never found the conchs. Still looking but not going nuts over it.

About the PC, mine definitely looks better under lower light. It may be under too little but overall looks decent. Has a deep reddish coloration and has grown quite a bit since I got it but still looks like only a jumbo frag. I need to get some pics of it.
