My Nanostream 6025 Review and Pics

Well, got my nano's installed and all I can say is WOW! What a difference 'real' flow makes. I upgraded from 2 maxijets and the difference is amazing. Great product from a trusted company! :D

Packaging:
I carefully opened the box (after reading a few posts about the clamps breaking) with no problems. I took my time and carefully cut the cardboard around the pump's clips. Took no time at all to set the parts out for assembly.

Assembly:
Assembly of the pumps was a breeze. Simply stick on the rubber bumpers to each magnet, snap together the clip to the magnet assembly and you are good to go. Simple.

Installing:
Positioning the nano's is the funnest part. Simply hold the nano in place, inside the tank, and bring together (slowly) the outside magnet. Done. The pump head is fully adjustable so directing flow is easy. Just watch your fingers, these magnets are STRONG. ;)

Flow:
My tank measures 36x12x21. A 40 high. The surface aggitation, with both of them on opposite sides directed at each other, is great. The flow from one pump radiates out and hits both the front and back panels where it intersects with the opposited pump's flow in the middle. There isn't an inch of surface that isn't rippling. Complete random flow in the center of the tank that radiated down and back towards the side walls.

Any questions???

Nice pics drummereef. They really are well built pumps, and the performance is outstanding.

Thank you very much!!! Not the Tunze needs any plugs, but the two stream pumps I added made a huge difference in giving me the flow I needed.

i have two of these and this is the same experience i have had with both, they are quiet and create awsome flow

Yeah, people have complained about chatter in the pumps. They are extremely quiet, imo. Maybe that's because my Remora is so friggin loud. :)

just bought three of them to go in my 70gal. they would not be enough flow w/o my mag 12 IMO, but with my return line T-D off in two directions via Loc-Line the flow in the tank is now perfect:)they run pretty silent as well. I wanted the 6055's , but I cannot see how those would do any better job and cost three times as much per unit.

I just got mine in my 55g and absolutely love it. I have one for now plus my return line but am debating on getting a second. After my rock cures and cycles I will have to decide if I want more based on what I stock with.

Beautiful product! Magnets hurt though- we have 2 of the little bottom clamps that came off so it hangs byt he upper two.

if anyone knows how to better secure it since those break so easily please send me a pm!

drummereef,

Thanks for the review and pics of the 6025. Looking at getting one myself. Do you happen to have a front tank shot showing both the MJ and Tunze? I'm just trying to get a better size comparison. I saw the shot from the side, but it is tough to compare the two.

Thanks

Shoot, I don't. I can tell you the nanos are quite small. I thought I would not like the size but was pleasantly surprised at how small they are. Its hard to compare the two since maxis are more square and the nanos are round but they roughly take up the same amount of space.

You also have to consider that with the streams you have more than twice as much flow and 5x less wattage than the maxi-jet 1200. Drummer, look up. :)
