My Nanostream 6025 Review and Pics

Drummereef, thanks for the pics, just what I wanted to see. They are similar size, but the shperical shape of the nano is more pleasant to the eye.

I think the wattage is more like 1/3 of the MJ1200. 6 watts vs. 20 watts, but 2 times the flow.

No problem! I had tons of people asking me to get comparason shots of them before I even recieved the streams. The streams blend in WAY better with the tank.

What do you keep, coral wise, in the tank. I think it might be slightly on the light side. Right now I have 30x turnover with just the 2 nanos. You might be better off with 2 6045's

hey guys i just got my two tunze nanostreams in the mail today. i have a 45 gallon tank
18 inches high, 28 inches long and 16 inches wide. (odd I know and im hating it lol)

They will be replaceing 2 maxi jets.

help me out here i have a question..

Ive always had my 2 maxis on each side of the tank. Causeing practically NO flow in the left and right corners and back of tank.

So im thinking should I stick them both on the back and aim the left one to the right front and the right one to the left front?

Flows never been my high point and I want to finally get it right since I have the oportunity for change. Heres an older pic, but skimmer, aquaclear and maxis are still in the same spots

That would probably be perfect for a cube-ish tank like yours. Try it and let us know.

I actually just purchased the tank today but i will definantly give you some pics when it's all set up. I'm trying to take things slow becuase i've killed every freshwater tank i've ever had. I've been researching for 6 months and i still have a lot to learn. I purchased most of my supplies today so i'm pretty excited. I'm going to get my tunze's from marine depot some time this week. Wish me luck!

I've been running my Nano 2025 for 3 weeks now and thought I would add to this post.

I am absolutely thrilled by the amount and type of flow this pump produces. I run a seahorse tank so I didn't want any narrow strong streams of water in the tank.

ALL the water in my tank is now moving. I have enough flow for corals, but the velocity is still low enough that my seahorses are still happy.

I do find this pump noisy comparted to my other powerheads, and because I do not run a skimmer, do notice it. Given the flow, its a reasonable trade off.

Assembly and installation were dead simple and the design of the holder is a marvel. I can stick this pump anywhere and it stays stuck. The directional adjustment is brilliantly simple.

I spent a day moving the pump around in the tank to get the right flow and it was a shear pleasure. Sooo much easier than a traditional powerhead.

Tunze must be using a German inch though, because I measured the housing at 3". 2.5" would have been wonderfully compact. 3" is quite reasonable and, as you can see from pics others have posted it is a smaller footprint than powerheads.

Overall I am really, really happy with this pump so far. If it holds up like other Tunze products, it will be the best pump I have ever bought.
